Newsite

Setting up your site

When Freeway starts up, or if you go to the File Menu and down to New, you will get the set-up screen which enables you to specify the type of site you wish to make. This sets the Default specifications, but do not worry you can change these for each page if you wish.

Default HTML - This specifys what version of HTML you wish to code your site into, I am using HTML4 but you can also use XHTML if you wish.

Default Page Size - This sets the standard page size you wish to have in the browser, I would normally have it 770 pixels across so that it can be viewed on an SVGA monitor but you can change it to iPhone size or any other size you wish.

Site Folder - This is where you select the final website folder you created earlier where Freeway will write all the HTML code.

Resources - This specifies how you would like the images, videos etc to be in relation to the HTML files. If it is a small site you can keep it with the HTML but if it is a larger site you should select seperate resource folder which Freeway will create for you to keep the images seperate from the HTML files.

File Names - This is dependent upon your server but as most webservers are now UNIX or LINUX based Unix/Windows should be selected. consult your web host for information.

Templates

This button allows you access to a wealth of pre-created templates that you can use to work from. Personally I would not use these but if you have limited design experience they may be useful to you.
